"My Way" Fried Rice

Fried rice is a very common dish in Malaysia. There are many versions of fried rice and most of them are pretty easy to make. I love to make my own fried rice whenever I got time.

So, malam semalam Ms. Panda dilanda kerajinan dan mulalah merekacipta nasi goreng "My Way". Kali ini, instead of using piles of mushrooms like usual, Ms. Panda guna veggies macam mixed vegetables (campuran corns, diced carrots dan kacang peas) dan juga kacang panjang. Kacang panjang atau dikenali sebagai snake beans/bora/yardlong beans/Chinese long beans ni dikatakan boleh buat angin dalam badan. Tapi, sampai hari ini Ms. Panda ok jer, so I guessed it depend-la dengan badan tukang makannya.

It's fun to add in new flavors to my fried rice. Mushrooms are my favorite, but since my brother didn't like it, I fried it separately.(I mixed it in after removing his portion from the wok) So, here's the recipe:

Young snake beans (Kacang panjang muda) 3 or 4 strings (3 or 4 batang) - finely diced (di potong kecil)
Mixed vegetables (Sayur campur) 1 cup (1 cawan)
Squid (Sotong) 3 medium-sized (3 ekor bersaiz biasa)
Oil (Minyak) -I use vegetable oil
Egg (Telur) 1 egg (Sebiji je)
Shrimp paste (Belacan) 1 or 1/2 teaspoon - depend on how strong you like it (1 atau 1/2 sudu teh)
Bird eye chilli (Cili Padi) 10 or more - depend on how spicy you want it (10 atau lebih)
Garlic (Bawang Putih) 5 small cloves (5 biji)
Bombay Onion (Bawang Bombay/besar) 2 medium-sized (2 saiz medium)
*Cukup Rasa -optional (it's a seasoning)
Salt (Garam) - for taste
Sugar (Gula) - for taste
Ground Black Paper (Lada Hitam dikisar) for taste
and last but not least, don't forget rice (warm/cold) 4 bowls = 4 servings (+-)

Firstly, you blend the items that I underlined above. For those who likes it chunky, just two or three pulses are enough. For others, hot it till it smooth. Don't forget to put in one small bowl of water while you blend (to make it easier for the blender to work).

Translate 1 = Blender bahan-bahan yang digaris di atas. Ms. panda likes it smooth so I blend dia cukup-cukup. Jangan lupa letak air sikit dalam bahan yang nak diblender. Jangan dera blender anda. Lainlah kalau blender mahal yang boleh blend gitu jer.

Next, heat oil and once it's hot enough, pour in the paste you just made and fry it until it's almost cooked. Then, add in the mixed vegetables and diced long beans and cooked until soft. After that, put in salt, sugar and seasoning to taste and once you are sure everything is cooked, put in the rice. Fold and slice the rice with your spatula until it's all cooked and steamy and sprinkle black pepper on it before you turn off the stove.

Gorenglah sampai semua sebati.

There you have it. "My Way" Fried Rice ataupun Nasi Goreng "My Way". Please make sure you have a big wok before you start so you won't spill it out while preparing the fried rice. Oh, since Ms. Panda's brother didn't like mushroom, I took the initiative to remove his portion before adding in the fried mushroom I prepared earlier before I turned off the stove.

Bahan-bahan kisar tu boleh jadi base untuk mana-mana jenis nasi goreng yang korang nak buat. Sayangnya semalam pasal letih sangat, terlupa nak amik gambar. Nanti lain kali Ms. Panda masak lain dan upload gambarnya.

Anyway, please feast your eyes on the chilies mussels and other dishes that I have made (and managed to take picture) in past with the help of my mom and sister

Chicken with mexican herbs.

Chilli Mussles

Vegetable soup

They are all simple dishes. I will share the recipe upon request. Everybody can cook. Provided that you have the patience and willing to slave around the stove.

What I used in my cooking were usually things that you can find in typical Malay kitchen. I used my mother's traditional recipe and add in my own from time to time to give new kick to the flavor.

Oh, one more thing. I am not a certified or skilled chef. So, if you found flaws in my method, sorry and cheers! I am still learning, after all.

So, itu sahaja buat update kali ini. Ms. Panda would like to thank all the readers and friends yang banyak beri idea for me to make this blog works. Love you all ketat2.

Oh, Ramadhan is just around the corner. I am excited to share with you guys the lively pasar/bazaar Ramadhan that never failed to amaze me every year. There are going to be a lot of update on yes, you can guess, FOOD FOOD FOOD!!!

Ok, time to continue with delayed work. Till next time, ya all. Until then, cheers and chillax. ~(o u o ^)~

First date - How to fail.

Hi, Ms. Panda is back.

I was browsing around in the internet when I came across this statement in venusbuzz.com.

Allow me to quote it; "Out of the 2.5 million, 60.4% are men, leaving almost 1 million Malaysian women aged 25 and above unmarried."

Being above 25 and unmarried, I felt compelled to read it. True enough, I love to hate what's written there. Some of the facts are actually quite accurate, since I knew people who actually had such a mind-set (termasuklah I sendiri). However, since the article just stopped at "5 real reasons why you are still single", it got me thinking. What could be the other reasons for me to stay single? After some soul-searching, I managed to list a few. Ok, more than a few, but one seemed to top it all.

First date.

I went through several, so to say, failed dating session. However, the most recent one just took the cake. Before I go on, just bear in mind that I am not a relationship or social expert. I just want to share with you about what I considered as failed first date.

So, here goes. First date - How to fail.

1. Be late.

Be as late as you can. Don't even call or text. They don't have to know why you are late. Let them sit there like a fool waiting for you.

Come on, few minutes late is tolerable. It goes for both side; male and female. If it's longer than that, please let the other party know. Call or message if something urgent or completely unexpected happened. It's awkward to be alone and all dressed up, especially in a cafe or restaurant. People often think that we're stood up.

2. Dominate the conversation.

Run your mouth like a train. Don't even pause to breathe if you can help it!

Honestly? Let the other party talk. Have a conversation. Don't be the only person to have all the topics in the world to talk about. If she or he want to have an earful, they can go to a lecture hall. Give them a chance to speak too.

3. Pry on private matters.

Ask about your partner's financial situation, like how many credit cards they have or if they have personal loans. Put them on spot. Don't forget to stare sharply while doing it.

What??? You might be seriously into that person, but prying on their private matters is a no-no. Ask them questions they can answer without feeling pressured. After all, you are having a conversation, not an interrogation.

4. Be a show-off.

Flaunt your money! Show your cards! Sit like you own the restaurant!

Oh, please. This is not some old-time movie. If you have money, don't bother showing it. Personally, it is a turn-off for me. Some people might even feel insulted. Be modest.

5. Cross the line.

Push your partner around. Dude, don't forget to touch anywhere you like. Make her sound like she's easy.

Oh my god! It is the first date. Don't cross the line. Read her body language before you do anything and don't assume. Ask if you need to.

So, there you have it. It actually summed up my recent failed first date. For me, no relationships will work if it start like that. Relationship is like a ship. You need to build it before you can board it. It might take times, but you will see that it worth the wait and the little hard works.

Ok, time to sleep. Till next time, ya all. Until then, cheers and chillax. ~(^ o ^)~

How to put Cbox in your blog

So, Ms. Panda ni tak adelah expert dalam berblogging atau buat blog ni, tapi bolehlah sikit-sikit. Adelah dua tiga orang kawan yg tanye I macam mana nak add Cbox dalam blog diorang. Biasalah, sama-sama belajar. Therefore, I hope with this simple tutorial everybody can have their own message board a.k.a Cbox ni.

1. Ok, mula-mula, klik sini dulu. http://www.cbox.ws/ Nak taip balik pun boleh. Nak google kat search engine pun boleh. Taip aje Cbox.

2. Bila page dia dah load, click sign up atau Get your own free cbox now. Seperti yang you all boleh tgk kat bawah tu.

3. Lepas tu, isilah form tu. Contohnye,
Jangan lupa klik term and condition (bacala sekali) then klik create my cbox.
4. Dah klik create my cbox, enter password tadi

5. Pastu, kat Account Details, isi lagi password tadi. Janganla pulak lupa lepas ni password tu! hehe. Then, tekan Apply

6. Ade lagi? Mestilah. nak cantik kan? Lepas tu, pegi kat look and feel, adjustla apa yang patut. Nak tukar warna ke, adjust width ngan height ke, (tapi kat html layout nanti pun boleh adjust width and height tu)

7. Dah puas hati, tekan Apply, then Publish! Mana Publish? Tu, tepi Home, sebelah Look & Feel.

8. Tekan copy to clipboard, right click atas dia, and copy!

Dah siap satu bahagian. Sekarang, kita nak masukkan pula dalam blog.

1. Korang log in la dalam blog korang  (Log in>Dashboard>Design>Add a Gadget>Html/JavaScript)

2. Place kat mana korang nak dalam layout, pastu paste code yang copy tadi, pastu Save! Dah pun siap.

3. View blog korang dan boleh guna dah.

So, that's how you put Cbox inside your blog. It's easy and so far, it never gave me any problem yet. Kalau instruction Ms. Panda bagi ni x berapa jelas, sorry la ek.

Happy Cbox-ing!

Okes, I need to let my hair down now and rest. Till next time, ya all. Until then, cheers and chillax! (^ u ^)--<
